Rukshana Hafez Triem is the inspiring founder of the Firmina Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children in developing countries through education. Born in Mozambique, Rukshana and her family fled the country due to war in 1985, eventually finding refuge in Malawi and later in a refugee camp in Zambia. In 1992, they were granted asylum in the United States, where Rukshana has since dedicated her life to giving back to her community and the countries that once gave her hope.

The Firmina Foundation focuses on providing children from the poorest communities in Mozambique, Malawi, and Zambia with access to quality education, empowering them to work towards a brighter future.
